Officer in Charge - PPO(SCC) Eddie Pollock

Having joined the unit early in 2008 PPO(SCC) Pollock initially took on the younger part of the unit and followed in his son's footsteps by joining the Junior Sea Cadets. As JSC Leader he was involved in all aspects of the Junior Section from training to thier general wellbeing. From their Eddie moved to the position of First Lieutenant assisting the last OiC with the normal running of the whole unit. PPO(SCC) Pollock has now moved up to the top spot and accepted the role of Officer in Charge.

First Lieutenant - PPO(SCC) Bob Irving

After spending 11 years working as part of the Royal Navy Seaman's Branch PPO(SCC) Bob Irving spent time as the "Chief Rigger" for the REME Regiment before moving to Brunei where he was the Master Rigger for the Royal Brunei Navy for 21 years. Now returned to the UK PPO(SCC) Irving has joined the Sea Cadets to teach his skills to a new generation. Taking on the role of 1st LT, PPO(SCC) Irving is keen to instill the traditions and ethos of the RN to both Cadets and Staff alike within the corps.

Junior Section Leader - PPO(SCC) Chris Goodger

PPO(SCC) Goodger originally joined the unit as a member of the UMC, as she gained more experience with the unit she felt better able to assist the cadets on the staff. PPO(SCC) Goodger has now taken the role of Junior Section Leader, taking care of the younger side of the Sea Cadets.

Boats Officer - Civilian Instructor Stuart Ward

Starting as a cadet in Carlisle in 1990, Civ. Inst. Ward has always maintained links with the unit, including spending a year as a PPO(SCC) before joining the Royal Navy in 1997. Now in a position to help the unit on a more regular basis he has returned as an instructor, taking on the waterborne and weekend events. CI Ward is also the Unit Boat Maintainer, taking care of the unit boats and their equipment, and the Unit Website Administrator.

PPO(SCC) Doug McElvogue

PPO(SCC) Doug McElvogue joined the unit mid 2009. Since this time he has firmly found his place as a Part One Instructor training the cadets in the Sea Cadets Core Skills. With a boating background behind him PPO(SCC) McElvogue also assists with boat maintainance and waterbourne training.

If you want to help, but not instruct, there is always the Unit Management Committee who kindly organise our fund raising and maintain the unit building.
